Jose and Nelly Martinez

Recently God called Jose and Nelly Martinez to join the team of Global Teen Challenge to serve in Latin America and the Caribbean Region. Jose and Nelly serve in areas of New Country Development, Training Leaders and Sustainability Development.

Jose was born in Puerto Rico and his wife Nelly Martinez is from Michoacán, Mexico and both have been working with Teen Challenge Dominican Republic for the last 10 years directing the Men’s and the Women's programs. Jose entered Teen Challenge in 2001 after running the streets of Puerto Rico involved in gangs and living a life of addiction. In 1999, Jose was charged with carjacking facing 16 years in prison. While he was in prison, God did a great miracle in his life and made a way for him to enroll into Teen Challenge in 2001. God gave Jose the strength and he graduated from Sanford, Florida Teen Challenge in 2002. He then graduated from Teen Challenge International Ministry Institute in Jacksonville, Florida.

Today, Jose is an ordained minister of the Assemblies of God with his wife Nelly and both are very passionate to share with others the love of God.
