Max and his family are excited to work and serve in Costa Rica
Max was born and raised in Arkansas. After Max became a Christian in June of 2000 he became active in ministry to hurting people. Max led small groups and 12 step ministries in area churches. from 2001-2003 he worked bringing the hope of Jesus into Polk County Jail. In 2003 he spent 6 months in Costa Rica as a pastor and helped to start soup kitchens and Bible studies for people with addictions. In 2004 Max and Tara were married. For 2 years they ministered to the community by bringing people off the streets and into their home for discipleship. Max and Tara have 3 boys, and served with Teen challenge since 2006. In 2009 he later started and spent a year and a half starting and directing a residential program for men. Since 2011 Max has received Life Line, GSNC, and PSNC training and served as a supervisor and staff trainer at Teen Challenge Ranch. He is pursuing his degree in Christian counseling, is a Certified Ropes Course Instructor. After 10 years serving Teen Challenge here in the USA, the Martin family are now working with GTC returning to Costa Rica to continue the work that started 13 years ago.
