“My father rejected our family, so my mother raised me and my sisters. The pain of that rejection stayed with me throughout my childhood and I grew to think the world was against me. I started using drugs to cope. As addiction took hold, I was making terrible decisions. I was in the streets using drugs, and things began to get cloudy. I prayed to God to change my life because I was nothing. God heard that prayer and soon a friend of my mother’s came to her and recommended Teen Challenge. My mother asked me if I wanted to become a better person and I said yes. Now, I have hope for my life and a loving family surrounding me.”
